Jio Summer Surprise Offer Announced

Reliance Jio Prime last date

In a letter addressed to Reliance Jio customers, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani thanked the users, and added that Jio Prime last date was being extended from March 31 to April 15. With this move, users will be able to buy the Jio Prime membership at the introductory price of Rs. 99 for 15 more days. Earlier today, some users said they were unable to subscribe to Jio Prime via the Jio.com website and MyJio app due to system errors, likely caused by server overloads due to unusually high traffic.

72 million Jio Prime subscribers in a month

In a statement, Reliance Jio said that in one month, over 72 million people had signed up for Jio Prime. The company called this "the largest migration from free to paid services in history in such a short period of time." In his letter, Ambani wrote, "Over the past few days, we have been deluged by millions of customers queuing up to purchase Jio’s popular Rs. 303 and other tariff plans. This nationwide trend indicates that very many customers are still in the process of purchasing Jio Prime and their first paid tariff plan."
The Rs. 99 Jio Prime plan provides customers more than 10 times the 4G data on recharge values or Rs. 303 and higher. For example, Jio Prime users get 28GB of data for 28 days (with daily cap of 1GB), while non-Jio Prime customers get only 2.5GB. Similarly, those buying the Rs. 499 Jio recharge pack get 56GB of 4G data (FUP of 2GB per day), instead of 5GB.

Jio Summer Surprise offer details

Jio has announced that every Jio Prime member who makes a recharge using Jio’s Rs. 303 plan (or any of Jio’s higher value plans) will get an additional three months of complimentary service. This means that if you buy Jio Prime membership and a recharge of Rs. 303 or higher value by April 15, you will get to use Jio services for free until June, and the paid plans will only start in July. If you’ve already subscribed to Jio Prime plan and bought a recharge, you will still get the Summer Surprise without any further action. The company added that the Jio Summer Surprise is going to be just the first of “many” surprises for Prime members.
"Jio’s free service period is coming to an end," wrote Ambani. "Users who do not recharge by the extended date will experience degradation and/ or discontinuation of services."
"In India, we have the fine tradition of shagun - offering gifts on auspicious occasions," he added. "For us, your first recharge is an auspicious moment. Therefore, we want to offer a token of our appreciation - the Jio Summer Surprise."
